Welcome to The Connected Church news!
Our first big news of this week is from WhatsApp.
Our first big news is about WhatsApp. Last week, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, announced that WhatsApp Business users can create ads within WhatsApp Business (app), without leaving their mobile app. You know that WhatsApp has two apps. One is a personal regular app and the other is WhatsApp Business app.
If you’re using WhatsApp Business app, you will soon be able to create ads that run on Instagram and Facebook. Earlier, you could create ads on Instagram and Facebook using Facebook Ad Manager. And the only thing that you would do related to WhatsApp is, you could connect WhatsApp as the CTA (call-to-action) – if somebody looks at your Facebook or Instagram Ad, you can give a button that says ‘click here to message on WhatsApp’ and people can click on that and talk to you on WhatsApp, that’s what you were able to do so far. But now, you can do the entire advertisement releasing process from within your mobile app; WhatsApp Business app directly.
This could make things very easy. This whole feature uses ‘Catalogs’ that are a feature within WhatsApp Business. It could be very handy if you are a big WhatsApp user or use WhatsApp Business for various nonprofit and ministry purposes.
