Welcome to The Connected Church news!
This news is from both about Facebook Messenger and Google Meet.
First of all, Facebook Messenger announced a range of updates to its Messenger Room facility. They now have added custom backgrounds, like you can do on Zoom. You can add a custom background to your Messenger Rooms and you can also categorize the rooms.
I think that is also important from a ministry perspective, because when you have multiple rooms and you want to keep them well organized for ministry purposes, now you can do that with Facebook Messenger.
Definitely check out this news item.
The next news is about Google Meet.
Google is starting to think very differently about how we work at home using conferencing facilities. They have announced that you can now cast your Google Meet on your house television – TV set, or your smart display that you have in your house.
The announcement says “…With Google Meet on cast, you can turn any room in your house into your own personal conference room, taking advantage of your TV or a smart display”.
This is an announcement that is intended to help people work comfortably out of home, which can be another big opportunity for us as ministries and nonprofits to help people through small groups and personal engagement content that you plan for your ministry.
So check out these two important announcements.
