Welcome to The Connected Church news!
Our first big news of this week is from Instagram. Instagram released a new feature called Remix within Instagram Reels.
Remix allows you to take one Instagram Reel, and side-by-side create your version, your remix of that video. It could be the same thing or it could be something complementary. You can get really creative with this. This is a feature that’s hugely popular in TikTok called Duets. So if you’ve been using TikTok, you know what I’m talking about. Now Instagram brings that feature into Instagram Reels. Here is the announcement, it says, “Remix is enabled by default for all new Reels you publish from a public account. To enable Remix on your older Reels tap the three dot menu, and enable remixing. To Remix someone else’s Reel ask them to do the same. You can turn off Remix anytime via the settings for all reels, or the three dot menu for individual Reels”. Now this is available, do check out your account.
I see lots of applications within a ministry setting. One of the key ways to start using this is by working alongside one of your ministry partners. If they produce Reels, and if that is something that’s complementary to you, you can collaborate with them and kind of create something interesting and captivating for your audience, so that you can engage with them meaningfully on Instagram. Do check it out.
