WhatsApp has been making multiple minor updates to the app in the last few months, but last week they made a significant feature launch, which is called WhatsApp Channels. They are bringing a newsfeed type of feature into WhatsApp, so basically your audience can select you as an organization-nonprofit, church, or a ministry along with other organizations that they like to follow. They can select all of them. They can even select individuals. And all the updates from these people that they’ve selected, and these organizations that they’ve selected will appear under one separate tab called channel updates. You see what WhatsApp is doing? So basically people can go to that tab called updates and they can get all the updates, all the posts or broadcasting that has been done from these organizations. You broadcast something, people can select a separate tab to receive all those broadcasts. I think it’s a significant move. Check it out, pass it on to your social media team.
