The question we have today is from someone who is just setting up their YouTube channel and wants to know what are the basic things they need to focus on, to succeed in the long term.
So here are the 4 things I would suggest. You can remember them as C C T V.
#1 C – C is for consistency. Post consistently. Have a schedule, whether it’s once a week or thrice a week or once a day or once in two months… I mean, I wouldn’t say ‘once in two months’ it is not a good idea… but try to post often, at least once a week, if not more. Do it consistently. Because of people expect.. Once they start consuming your content, they expect your content on a regular basis. And if you have a regular schedule, it also shows YouTube that you are serious. So you might get preference in ranking and so on. In many ways, consistency helps. So first C is Consistency
#2 C – C for Captions, Title, and Description (the 3 written items). Title is one of the most important things for YouTube, so work on that. It should have the right words, the keywords, the right sentence that your audience can relate. Focus on the audience. Don’t think too much about the keywords. All that you can figure that out as you go along. They are important, but what’s more important is that your audience relates to the topic that you’re talking about. So that is the next C.
#3 T – I would recommend that you focus on is Thumbnails. Thumbnail for each of your videos. Make sure it’s short, it’s catchy, it’s attention-grabbing and it’s related to your video. Don’t just do something that is good looking, that does not relate to your video. Do something that is very relevant to your video. That is T.
#4 V – Finally, V is for Value-Addition. This is the most important thing. Even if you don’t have many of the others, some of your videos will do really well if you consistently add ‘value’. Focus on your content. Don’t get too carried away by all the other frills and good looks and designs and edits, but not being focused on the content. Then it’s going to be of no use. So make sure you spend as much time as possible coming up with the most value-adding content to your audience, and you will definitely succeed on YouTube. All the very best. God bless you.
